The EcoCityLab organizes and conducts fieldtrips to the following exemplary sustainable projects and towns in Europe and the United States: Bo01 Western Harbour, Malmo (Sweden); Copenhagen City Center (Denmark); BedZed (England); Freiburg-Vauban (Germany); Berlin Block 6 (Germany); Berlin Castello (Germany); Potsdam-Kirchsteigfeld (Germany); GWL-Terrein, Amsterdam (Netherlands); Eco-Viikki, Helsinki (Finland); and Arcosanti, Arizona (USA).
