Design

The EcoCityLab designs urban projects (from landscapes to new towns, including urban regeneration) that would have zero-carbon emissions, be self-reliant in terms of infrastructure services (energy, food, water, and sanitation), and to have the smallest possible ecological footprint. To this end, all of our projects feature:

• Sustainable transportation (and some car-free zones)
• Biodiversity-enhancing areas
• Rain and wastewaters management & recycling

• Climate-sensitive urban design (for Urban Heat Island control)
• Variety of housing tenure and economic types (including social housing)
